Bobby is a music education and product representative for Musical Innovations where he connects musicians to the resources they need, serving as a liaison between the store and instrument manufacturers and customers. He also offers lessons on trombone, euphonium, and tuba.
He also serves as the Education & Events Director for Animado Events, a production company focused on building events with significant and sustained impact on music and cultural education and experiences.
In addition to these positions, Bobby is the Artistic Director and Conductor of the Upstate Symphonic Winds. He also serves as a musical services contractor for churches, theaters, and other events in need of musicians, assembling string quartets, brass quintets, orchestras, and other ensembles for almost any occasion.
As an active freelance trombonist, Bobby performs regularly in a variety of performance venues. Performance opportunities have taken him to many places including the Midwest International Band and Orchestra Clinic, the American Bandmasters Association Convention, Music Educators Association Conventions, the Spoleto Festival, the International Trombone Festival, the American Trombone Workshop, and anywhere that pays in BBQ.
Bobby is married to the incomparably beautiful and intelligent Elyzel Servano Powell, and together, they serve a household of dogs, chickens, family, friends, and (way too many) plants.
