What is a lefreQue?
The lefreQue is a sound bridge that will make all wind instruments sound better. It consists of a bridge built up by two metal elements that will repair the sound breaches that occur in different parts of a wind instrument. You can safely place the lefreQue on your instrument using the especially developed elastic band. You do not need to modify your instrument.
Why use a lefreQue?
The connection between the mouthpiece and the neck of an instrument can have a negative influence on the sound quality and tuning. Cork, in particular, is a material that absorbs sound and can be used to perfectly fit a mouth piece airtight to the instrument. However, the properties of cork are such that it obstructs proper transmission of vibrations from the mouthpiece to the body of the instrument. The lefreQue sound bridge solves this problems by providing a free passage for those vibrations.
What does a lefreQue do for a metal to metal connection?
On flute and brass instruments, there are no cork connections, but the lefreQue does the job essentially in the same way.
Rigid and clamped connections introduce frequency-dependent resistances in the body of all instruments, regardless of the material they are made of. Examples of these connections are mouthpiece-to-body connections, screw connections, and solderings.
The higher frequencies that travel through the body of the instrument are curtailed more than the lower, making your overtones increasingly out of tune with their fundamental. The only way to correct this, without lowering the fundamental, is using the patented lefreQue sound bridge.
